Ken Loach’s acclaimed Cannes prize winning film that tackles the origins of the “Troubles” in Ireland and the war of independence is to be shown in Margate for the first time.

The event includes an introduction by Tom Behan, who interviewed Loach when the film was released last year.

Great fanfare welcomed the reorganisation of local NHS services in East Kent with the creation of Eastern and Coastal Primary Care Trust. The boasting of a 3.6 million pound saving in management costs which is supposed to be reinvested in patient care. How then to explain ward closures and possible redundancies at Thanet’s QEQM Hospital ?
